How to delete your account

You can delete your Finwiser account in any of the following ways:

1. In the Finwiser app

Open the app → Profile tab → tap "Delete my account" → confirm in the two-step screen. Your account is deleted immediately: everything is erased except the few records the law makes us keep (below). See our Privacy Policy for full details of what is deleted and retained.

2. If you have uninstalled the app

Email us at helpdesk@finwiser.org with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address registered on your Finwiser account. Include your registered mobile number. We will confirm your identity and process the deletion within 3 working days.

What gets deleted

When you request deletion, we permanently erase everything that no law requires us to keep, including:

• your bank and other account data received through the Account Aggregator, your transactions, holdings, balances, net-worth and cash-flow snapshots, budgets and spending categories;
• your credit reports, the result of the PAN lookup from your mobile number, passwords you saved to access your statements, and access to any email account you connected; and
• your app preferences, notification settings, device tokens and active sessions.

What we must keep

As a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser, SEBI's adviser regulations (Regulation 19) and the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act require us to keep a few records for five years:

• your identity details (name, mobile number, email, PAN and date of birth);
• the consents you gave (what you agreed to and when);
• your risk profile, your goals as advised, the advice we gave and why, and your conversations with Finwy and our advisor; and
• any complaint you raised, and a record that your deletion was done.

These records are moved to a locked archive, are not used for anything else, are opened only when a law, a regulator or a complaint requires it, and are deleted automatically after five years. If you are under 18 and we erased your details for that reason, we keep only a record that the erasure was done.

Sign-in and security logs are kept for up to one year. Backup copies are purged within 30 days. Anonymous, non-identifying aggregate statistics (e.g. total active user counts) may persist in our analytics systems; these do not contain any data that could identify you after deletion.

Important — Account Aggregator consent

To fully revoke data sharing, please also open your Account Aggregator app after deleting your Finwiser account and revoke any active consents there. Finwiser will stop using the consent immediately upon your deletion request; the final revocation at the AA is the step only you can take.
